Jonatan Etzler

Jonatan Etzler, born in 1988, graduated in Film Directing from Stockholm University of the Arts in 2018. His thesis film Get Ready With Me won Gold at the Student Academy Awards in Los Angeles 2018. Jonatan has directed several shorts that have been awarded at major festivals around the world, and shown on TV, in the cinemas and been selected as Staff Picks at Vimeo.

Jonatan wants to explore complex issues for a wide audience. His films examine human behavior in absurd situations, and he works in different genres like comedy, drama, thriller, sci-fi or musical.

Jonatan also studied at the Stockholm Film School 2006-2008, and was chosen for European Film Promotions “FUTURE FRAMES: Ten New Filmmakers to Follow” 2019, Berlinale Talents 2015, Fårö Talents 2014. He also worked as a 2nd Unit Director, First Assistant Director, film teacher, sound technician and music composer.
