Lisen Ellard

Lisen Ellard works with death, sleep and ecstasy through dance and performance in Sweden and internationally. She oscillates between formats such as dance, performance, video, concert, sound and text, and explores various ways to collaborate and be in co-existence with other artists. Ellard wants to challenge concepts about established hierarchies in terms of the creation and generation of material as well as the relationship between artist and spectator in a performing arts context. In the spring of 2018, her group piece “If ever in range” was performed at Dansens Hus, a work to be transformed during 2020 into an art installation. Ellard collaborates with director Mattias Lech and together they have created the participatory performance ”Döden” (=Death), and they now works with the upcoming piece on the theme of The Funeral with premiere 2020. Ellard also has a background as a radio journalist.
