Sara Giese

Focusing on contemporary drama, Sara Giese has directed numerous productions for the Swedish stage. With emphasis on first performances she has regularly collaborated with writers such as Jonas Hassen Khemiri, Maria Sveland, Liv Strömquist and Anders Duus. For The Stockholm Royal Dramatic Theatre she has directed the world premieres of “About Love” by Lars Norén and “Hello it’s me Again” by Kristina Lugn.

As a playwright, Giese has made adaptations of novels, comic books and classic drama, most recently King Lear by William Shakespeare for the The Roma Theatre at Gotland.

Sara Giese holds a Stage Directing MA from the University Collage of Theatre in Stockholm (Dramatiska Institutet).
