Ali Ardalan
Ali Ardalan studied art history at Tehran University and holds a master in fine art from HDK-Valand Academy of art and design, Gothenburg University. Migration, identity, subject formation, and language have been major fields of interest to Ardalan. His artistic practices and research reflect on the concept of power – examining how the dominant power infuses its will and interests into the fabric of society and tries to institutionalize its understanding of reality. He works in parallel in several different media ( video, photography, sculpture ), and through mixed installations, he tends to construct a nonlinear narrative and unsettle mechanism of the hegemonic representation. Ali Ardalan is represented at the Göteborgs konstmuseum. Also his video “This is not a line” has been selected as a winner of the “International media art competition” for art students at Turku art academy, Finland.
