Alexandra Falagara
Alexandra Falagara works with illustration, visual communication, text and learning and has recently released her second book Aspekter och samband (2024).
Since graduating from Konstfack in 2007, Alexandra’s assignments have ranged from small to large players in everything from editorial illustration to exhibition design, to art direction to election campaign proposals in the EU and parliamentary elections.
In 2012, she co-founded with Brita Leitmann the influential design studio and artistic research project Bastion – Agency Studio Lab. Through Bastion and its mission, they investigate how identity, norms and boundaries are shaped and reproduced through visual culture, and develop methods for translating power-critical theory into design practice.
As an educator, Alexandra has been a lecturer in visual design at the Royal Academy (DK), Konstfack and also the head of education in visual communication at Nyckelviksskolan. Her clients include: Albert Bonnier Publishing house, Sweden’s Television, the Swedish Government Offices, Yale School of Arts, ArkDes – Sweden’s National Centre for Architecture and Design, Bang magazine, The New York Times, Lesbisk makt, Swedish Traveling Exhibitions, The National Maritime Museum.
At Transit Alexandra will focus on image making and writing.
