Linda Hallstan

Linda is a graphic designer and cultural worker who is interested in the relationship between graphic design, the work of the hand and the value of things. In a time where efficiency and optimization often dominate the view of work, she is driven by exploring and creating methods where other values and perspectives can materialize.
In her work, she often combines experimentation, typography, text and decorative elements as different strategies to disrupt/intervene/mess with/trouble a capitalist production logic. She is interested in how she can use her tools as a designer for the commons in society and how graphic design can be part of communication but also part of the artistic experience.
This approach has also resulted in a toolbox, where she experiments with letterforms, analogue and digital tools, which she often brings into collaborations with institutions, organizations and artists, and makes everything from books and publications to visual identities or exhibition design. Linda has a master’s degree from Konstfack and has, among other things, done projects and collaborations with Grafikens Hus, Black Archives Sweden, Konstfack, Tyra Wigg and Jonelle Twum.
During her time at Transit she looks forward to new encounters and collaborations, to think and experiment with others and to deepen her work with text and design.
