Bitte Andersson
Bitte Andersson is a comic book artist and illustrator, but also the film director of Dyke Hard – a lesbian action comedy musical that premiered in Swedish cinemas in March 2015. Bitte has a bachelor degree in fine arts, but her background in Do-It-Yourself-culture with punk bands, fanzines and amateur TV is the foundation of her methods and aestetics. She has also worked as a special effects artist at the legendary american B-movie company Troma. Her artistic ambition is to create positive alternatives to the unhealthy, normative and oppressive images that she feels surround us in commercial ads and media.
Right now Bitte is working on her debut graphic novel, a story set in an LGBT retirement home. Bitte has also started a feminist bookstore called Hallongrottan in 2006 that she sold in 2010 to join the graphic design and illustration masterprogram at Konstfack (University Collage of Arts, Crafts and Design). The feature film Dyke Hard is an extension of her master degree project.
