Nellie Lexfors Transit Sthlm

Nellie Lexfors is a film director and screenwriter, trained at the Stockholm University of the Arts and the Alma Screenwriting Program.

Her graduation film 2008 Loves You won the Dragon Film Award for Best Short Film at the Gothenburg Film Festival 2024 and was included in the Guldbagge Award shortlist for Best Short Film 2025. The short film Push was featured in the Liljevalchs Spring Salon 2024 and won Best Film in the heavyweight category at the November Festival 2020.

Nellie moves between documentary and fiction, with a particular interest in the space between them. Her creative process is shaped by improvisation and documentary methods, aiming to capture the uncontrolled, contradictory, and fragmented aspects of life – seeking something more spontaneous and alive, beyond the consciously constructed.

Her films are deeply connected to social issues, depicting the individual in relation to their surroundings. Through visual storytelling, she seeks authenticity and recognition. The narratives are character-driven, focusing on relationships, often set in environments where structural conditions challenge the individual.

In the coming year, she continues to develop her debut feature film in collaboration with Carbs Film, while also working on documentary and short film projects.
