Saima Usman
Saima Usman is an artist and curator. Raised in Lahore, the historical city of Pakistan, Saima moved to Sweden in 2011 and is now currently based in Stockholm. Areas of interest in her artistic work are orientalism, capitalism, subcontinental diaspora, post colonialism, Sufism and Muslim feminism.
Saima mixes a variety of mediums like paintings, textiles, drawings, poetry, AR & VR, animation, installation, and performance. Her prominent works include “Lesser-Known Stories” financed by Konstfack University and Botkyrka Konsthall, Stockholm, and “Fear or Freedom” mural textile collage permanent installation and mural painting at Folkets Hus in Husby, Stockholm.
She aims to create sustainability and equality on planet earth by spreading knowledge, justice and peace through social, cultural, and religious integration in the diversified and globalized world of today.
